Americanism essay contest winners announced

Students from St. John’s Lutheran School participated in the American Legion Auxiliary Americanism Essay Contest.
Students in grades 5–6 wrote essays on the topic “Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday and the Veterans Who Fought for Our Freedom.”
This year’s winners are:
• First Place: Livia DeVinny
• Second Place: Liza Yorde
• Third Place: Koby Cox
“Congratulations to these students on their outstanding work,” the school said in a news release.
