Author’s debut novel is a police thriller set in Lake City

The author of a new police thriller set in Lake City will be at DogHouse Books, 128 S. Washington St., on October 9, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a book signing event.

Author Alena McPherson’s debut novel “Twist of Fate,” is “a fast paced police thriller, that follows demoted Minneapolis detective, now Lake City police officer Ben Kessler around Lake City. Once his inner demons get the best of him, he now has to evade the very police force he was a part of. But who better to evade the police than an officer himself?” according to a news release.
