This weekend was supposed to be the 49th annual Water Ski Days. Instead it will go down in history as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
In a typical year, Lake City Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Michelle Larson would be coordinating the effort to welcome an estimated 30,000 people to town for the annual celebration of Ralph Samuelson’s invention of water skiing on Lake Pepin.
Organizers canceled this year’s festival because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m super bummed that it’s not happening,” she said.
