Coming to Oak Center Nov. 7, The High 48s
Bluegrass band The High 48s will make their Oak Center General Store Folk Forum debut with an 8 p.m. performance on Saturday, Nov. 7. The band takes their name from railroad slang for the boxcars originally used to transport troops on the front lines in WWI that could carry 40 soldiers or eight horses. Their most recent album, “Great Northern Railroad,” is a collection of railroad-themed bluegrass music recorded in Nashville, Tenn. Tickets are $5-$15 - patrons pay what they can.
