Criticisms were ill-informed

This letter is written in response to Mr. Darwin Meyers’ commentary published in the Lake City Graphic on April 24 concerning the “protesters” standing by the Gold Star Mothers memorial.

First, I prefer to be called a concerned American citizen exercising my rights under the Constitution granted by the Bill of Rights under the First Amendment which allows for peaceful assemblage and freedom of speech.

In his letter, Mr. Meyers asked what I did for my country, and if I knew what the Gold Star Mothers did to “protect my rear end.”
