Federal government extends free children’s meals through end of year

Every student at Lake City Public Schools is once again able to receive free breakfast and lunch meals, thanks to an extension of the USDA waiver program that has helped provide more than 110,000 free meals to Lake City students since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Lunch Time Solutions.

“Several families have reached out to me about how helpful these meals have been for their families, so we are pleased we can continue to do this for them,” said Supt. Erick Enger.
