Grant to fund temporary bump-outs on Lakewood Avenue

A grant from the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will allow Lake City to do a demonstration project at an intersection heavily used by Lincoln High School students.

During peak times of the school year, students numbering in the hundreds cross Lakewood Avenue on foot on South Prairie Street as they travel between the high school campus and the school athletic fields for phy-ed, sports, or other activities.

A study identified that intersection as a problem area for students.
