Kiwanis Club learns about United Way programs

Lake City Kiwanis Club president Erick Enger (left) introduced guest speaker Maureen Nelson, executive director of United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha and Pierce counties at a recent meeting.  Nelson spoke about United Way programs with an emphasis on Packing for the Weekend, a local project supported by Kiwanis.  Packing for the Weekend provides families in need with a grocery bag full of food each Friday to help those families provide meals to their children on the weekends.
