Lake City artist qualifies for state fair
If you stop by the fine arts building at this year’s state fair, you’ll see a painting of a little girl reading a book to a cat called “Bedtime Story.”
The girl is Pat Swanson’s granddaughter.
The painting is Swanson’s.
Qualifying for the fair is a point of pride for Swanson.
“It’s quite a selection process when you consider that it’s from the whole state,” she said. “Quite a few of the people who are chosen are professional artists.”
The first step in that process is sending a digital file to the selection body.
