Library to host Flies book talk and discussion Jan. 23

The Lake City Public Library invites the public to a book talk and discussion with Minnesota author Ken Flies on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 6:30 p.m., at the library.
Flies led a sheltered life on a Midwestern dairy farm, and in 1962, became one of the pioneer Peace Corps volunteers located in a small village in the remote backland of Brazil during one of the most turbulent decades in American history. For 21 months he would have no contact with his family. People are invited to learn more about his experiences during this book talk and discussion.
