New date, location for Float-a-palooza
Float-a-palooza is returning this year, but in a different location and on a different day of the week.
This year’s event will take place Sunday, Aug. 15, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hok-Si-La Park. Past Float-a-paloozas were held on Saturday at the Marina beach next to Ohuta Park.
Construction at that beach led the Chamber of Commerce to seek another location this year. The event was moved from Saturday to Sunday to better accommodate the new venue, Hok-Si-La, according to Chamber Executive Director Ed Hoffman.
