Oak Center General Store concerts resume

Live music is resuming in beautiful, downtown Oak Center.

For decades, the Oak Center General Store, owned by Steven Schwen beginning in 1976, held concerts weekly during the winter months in the store’s second floor event space. After the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the concert events known as “Folk Forum” became less frequent.

The building itself dates to the early 20th century, and some of the performer signatures on the back wall of the stage predate Schwen’s tenure by many years.
