Parade narrows gap between students and school staff

After months of distance learning that took place predominantly online, students and staff at Lake City Public Schools and St. John’s Lutheran School got to see one another in person – if only briefly and from a physical distance – May 20 during a parade organized by Bluff Country School Bus Service.

Law enforcement, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, motorcyclists and at least one Tiger mascot joined school and bus company personnel on a tour of the school district that took them down many residential streets in Lake City as well as Frontenac and Zumbro Falls.

Messages from teachers and others adorned signs and vehicles throughout the parade expressing love for students and well-wishes for the summer ahead.
