Pickleball supporters raising money for additional courts

Pickleball boosters in Lake City report they are over two-thirds of the way to their goal of funding the construction of two additional courts for the popular sport at Underwood Park in Lake City.

“We have contributions and pledges in the amount of $49,600 leaving us with $15,400 left to raise,” Lake City Mayor Mark Nichols, one of the fundraising committee members, said in a Sept. 7 email. “We hope folks will be interested in contributing and community members can send in a check or contact any of the committee members for additional information.”
