Progress made in tornado clean-up

Lots of work has gone into repairing the damage from the EF-0 tornado that swept through Lake City Tuesday, Sept. 24 – by the city, by volunteers, by property owners – and a lot of progress has been made. A total cost estimate of the damage caused is yet to come, however.

The storm struck at about 8 p.m. Sept. 24. The following day the National Weather Service announced that the storm included a tornado with an estimated peak windspeed of 80 miles-per hour that more or less followed Lyon Avenue east before striking the marina and Marina Point.
