Sheriff should not have retracted his retirement

There is a sense of pride for me having held the office of Sibley County Sheriff for 24 years. I understand times and attitudes have changed but when the current Wabasha County Sheriff announced his retirement, it should have been a compliment to him that his employees had enough respect for the position that they wanted to fill the vacancy being created.
