Surprising demand for free food boxes

Distribution of 147 boxes of food from Channel One was supposed to begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
But with cars already lining up to receive the boxes at 10 a.m., the volunteers working the food distribution event decided to open early. By about 10:45 a.m., all the food was gone and some people had to be turned away.
