Tour de Pepin draws 950 riders

In the final tally, 950 riders registered for this year’s Tour de Pepin on June 2, falling short of a new attendance record.

“Last year it was 1,038, but the weather forecast without a doubt kept riders away this year or I am confident we would have surpassed last year’s numbers,” said Michelle Larson, Lake City Chamber of Commerce executive director.

Aside from a few sprinkles, the forecast precipitation didn’t fall, and the riders who participated enjoyed it even more thanks to some of the changes this year, according to Larson.
