VFW Auxiliary announces Armed Forces Day event
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 8729 in Lake City will present a program on Armed Forces Day, May 21, at Gold Star Mothers Park at the corner of Lakeshore Drive and Park Street.
A presentation will honor deceased veterans from the Lake City area that served in all branches of the military.
The program will begin at 10 a.m.
Karen England will open the program with the Pledge of Allegiance and presentation and introductions.
Mary DeRoos will read the reason the poppy has become the flower of remembrance.
