Bank receives hoax bomb threat

Police are investigating a bomb threat called in to the Alliance Bank branch in Lake City Tuesday, June 12.

The call took place at 4:25 p.m., according to Lake City Police Sgt. Bill Weist in an email Wednesday.

“There was a similar threat at the same time at the Alliance branch in Red Wing. The threats were quickly determined to be a hoax,” Weist wrote. “Information is being shared with Red Wing Police Department, and the FBI, and the investigation is still active.
