Candidate reports campaign sign thefts

Lake City City Council Candidate Andru Peters reported the theft of one of his campaign signs from a Lake City yard on Aug. 2, according to the Lake City Police Department. On Aug. 6, he reported three more.

Peters is one of eight candidates vying for three city council seats. On Aug. 14, voters in the primary election will narrow the field to six.

He said that two residents had called to notify him that the signs were missing. The other two missing signs he discovered on his own, he said.
