Cemstone site plan meeting is Sept. 19

The Lake City Planning Commission and the Lake City Economic Development (EDA) will meet to go over land use plans for the city-owned Cemstone site on Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

The city purchased the site, which is over 100 acres and includes a large mining pit, over a decade ago with the intention of developing housing. That plan never came to fruition, but portions of the site were used for an electrical substation, community gardens and the new public safety building.
