City doesn’t do private tree work

After an article in the Graphic about the city cutting down ash trees and otherwise trimming trees on public rights-of-way and public property, the city public works department started getting calls from people asking the city to work on trees growing on private property.

The department wants to remind people that the city only trims and removes trees on public property such as parks or public rights-of-way such a boulevards. It does not do tree removals on private property during its annual tree work.
