City sells farm

A months-long process to sell farmland owned by the City of Lake City appears to be nearing conclusion.

At a special meeting Monday, March 23, The Lake City city council unanimously approved a sale of the roughly 77 acres in Lake Township to Wesley and Joshua Moechnig for $425,000 with $25,000 in earnest money.

Proceeds form the sale will offset costs from the Highway 61 reconstruction project.
