City swimming lesson dilemma

The City of Lake City is looking at its options for offering swimming lessons this summer.

City Administrator Rob Keehn informed the City Council at its Monday, March 13, meeting that the Red Wing Y, which had taught swimming lessons at the city-owned pool in Lake City in recent years, was no longer in a position to partner with the city on the effort.

Before contracting with the Red Wing Y to offer swimming lessons, the city offered lessons itself taught by the lifeguards employed at the pool.
