Council discusses fate of former public safety building

Lake City City Council members discussed what should be done with the city’s former public safety building and a nearby parking lot on South High Street at their regular meeting on April 8.

City Administrator Rob Keehn told the council that he had been approached by two private parties to see whether the city was interested in selling the property. Some community groups have also inquired, he said.

“Are we looking to hold onto it or are we looking to sell it?” he asked the council.
