Council sets budget; levy to rise 3.5 percent

The Lake City City Council Monday unanimously approved a 2018 budget and a tax levy increase of 3.5 percent over 2017.
While there was general consensus on the amount of the budget, councilmembers picked out a few items to discuss as the various elements of the budget came to a vote and expressed concern over the amount of the city’s budget reserve.
