County board approves aquatic invasive species management plan

Wabasha County Commissioners on Nov. 19 approved a 2025 Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Management Plan.

The County receives funds each year from the State of Minnesota through the Local Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Aid program. The County must have an AIS Management Plan approved annually in order to distribute the money.

The first step in the approval process, to submit a draft of the 2025 AIS Management Plan to the Board of Commissioners for review, was completed on Nov. 8.
