County limits in-person services
As of March 20 at noon, Wabasha County suspended public-facing non-essential services through April 7, 2020, at 8 a.m.
Wabasha County offices providing public-facing services will be closed to in-person public contact, the county said in a news release. Employees will still attend work, providing services via phone and electronic means when possible; required essential services will be provided in-person. The Criminal Justice Center and Sheriff’s Office window will remain open. Court Services and Court Administration will remain open at this time. Other Wabasha County buildings are closed to the public.
“We are taking this measure to help lessen the rate of infection. A difficult but necessary decision to protect the public and our employees,” County Administrator Brian Buhmann wrote. “We appreciate the patience and support of the public. Take care to practice social distancing, give a call to high-risk people to let them know you care, and continue good handwashing practices. “
