Chairman Dan Rechtzigel reported at the Jan. 19 County Board meeting that South Country Health Alliance held a meeting recently to go over the financial numbers for 2015.
Although it was a rocky year, he said South Country had $2.7 million in surplus revenue, even with the lawyer fees that were incurred when the state tried to shut South Country out of serving southeastern Minnesota last year. Rechtzigel noted that South Country is not in the business of making a profit, but of serving its constituents.
