Housing coming to former Whitings site

Excavation work has begun on the former Whiting’s Nursery retail location on the 900 block of North Lakeshore Drive.
The Whitings sold the property in May of 2022, according to state property sale records.
Replacing the nusery store will be three-story, multifamily building with 19 units, according to Lake City Planning and Community Development Director Megan Smith.
