Lock and dam at Lynxville opens five days early

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is reopening Lock and Dam 9, near Lynxville, Wis., five days earlier than expected.

The lock was closed to all navigation traffic Dec. 9, 2015, for winter maintenance. An extremely efficient work crew and mild winter allowed for the repairs to be completed earlier than scheduled. The Corps originally projected reopening the lock March 17.
