No cure-all for uncontrolled intersections

The Lake City City Council devoted about half of its workshop meeting Monday night to a discussion of the city’s 34 uncontrolled intersections but didn’t appear inclined to make any drastic changes.

Intersections are uncontrolled if they have no stop signs or lights directing traffic.

Councilmember Jason DeVinny asked the council to take up the issue after another accident happened at the intersections of Oak Street and Chestnut Street.

City staff compiled crash data at the city’s intersections for the council to review and discuss.
