Rezoning request for Mazeppa-area quarry denied

At their regular meeting on Sept. 4, the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to deny a request for rezoning of a parcel in Mazeppa Township to allow for expansion of a sand and gravel pit.

Commissioner Don Springer was absent. County Administrator Michael Plante was present, but there was no legal counsel present for this meeting.

Mark and Gary Leitzen had submitted an application to rezone the parcel from A-3 (Agriculture low density) to A-1 (Agriculture Protection). The parcel is located in section 9 Mazeppa Township.
