School mask policy under scrutiny

Members of the public and Lake City School Board weighed in on the school district’s mask policy for students at the board’s Sept. 21 meeting.

One of a few members of the public who addressed the board on the issue said that students were wearing masks up to 10 hours a day with only a few breaks.

They contrasted this policy with the one that allows high school athletes to remove their masks during periods of intense physical exertion and wanted to know how that is different.
