State grants city request to amend bonding language

The City of Lake City notched a victory at the state capitol with the passage of the bonding bill containing a language change sought by the city. It now awaits the governor’s signature.

Lake City had been awarded $1,058,000 in a previous bonding cycle to fund 50% of a breakwater at Ohuta Park.

Since then the estimated cost for that project doubled from about $2 million to about $4 million, according to Lake City Mayor Mark Nichols.
