Suspicious fires under investigation

On Sept. 8, the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Mazeppa and Zumbrota Fire Departments, responded to an abandoned trailer fire on 232nd Avenue in Zumbrota Township.

The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office also responded to a fire on that date, 10 miles from the Goodhue County location.

Both fires have been deemed suspicious in nature and are under joint investigation by the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office, according to a news release.
