Traffic delays expected Aug. 8 in Red Wing as bridge beams placed

Motorists near the Highway 61 bridge over the Canadian Pacific Railway south of Red Wing will encounter short-term traffic delays Aug. 8 during daytime hours while construction crews place beams on the new bridge, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

On Thursday, Aug. 8, crews will be setting up the crane and setting five beams from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Traffic will remain open during the work, but delays will occur to allow the crane space on the road to lift beams from a delivery truck and set them on the new bridge.
