Wabasha County modifies permit process after court reverses denial

Wabasha County is modifying its conditional use permit (CUP) process after a judge reversed its denial of a permit, finding that the county didn’t meet its obligations under state law.

Last year, Derrek Olson sued the county after commissioners voted to deny a CUP request for a feedlot in Oakwood Township.

A Wabasha County District Court judge found that the county hadn’t taken actions required by statute in two instances.
