Albert Krause Obituary

Albert “Al” Harold Krause, 69, of Zumbro Falls, passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus in Rochester, after a long battle with acute myeloid leukemia,
    He was born on May 3, 1951 in Red Wing at St. John’s Hospital to Wilbur Carl Krause and Mary Agnes (McVay) Krause-Heins. He grew up in the Mazeppa/Zumbro Falls area and attended Mazeppa High School, where he graduated in 1968.
    On June 30, 1973 he married Phyllis Jean Greer at Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Lake City. After marriage, Albert and Phyllis made Zumbro Falls their home.
    Albert started working at a young age helping farmers with field work. He also worked with ITT Continental Baking Co. of Rochester, Zumco of Zumbrota, and Lake City Concrete. He spent many years of his life driving trucks locally for Raleigh Davis Trucking of Elgin, Road Constructors Inc. of Rochester, Wendt’s Trucking of Rochester, and Bob Braaten Construction Inc. of Byron. He enjoyed riding his razor, farming, mowing the lawn, and NASCAR. Albert was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and he also loved his children and grandchildren very much.  
    Al is survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Phyllis Krause of Zumbro Falls; children, Dawna (Matthew) Rahn and Katie (Chase) Tang, all of Lake City; five grandchildren, Kaylee, Andrew, Jenna and Emilee Muenzhuber and Mason Tang, all of Lake City; one step-granddaughter, Rebecca Rahn of Eagan; sister, Margaret (Henry) Heise of Rochester; brother, Carl Krause of Oronoco; uncle, Jerry McVay of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Mary; his brother, Merle Krause; his father-in-law, Earl Greer; mother-in-law, Marcella (Sally) Greer; and grandson, Jason Tang.
    Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place N.W. in Rochester. A private family burial will be at Zumbro Falls Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for Albert will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, July 3 in Lake City at 905 N. 7th Street. Masks will be required for attending the visitation and social distance guidelines will be in place.
