Alex Noben Obituary

Alex Nicholas Noben, 25, from Red Wing, formerly of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 7, 2019 at his home.
    Alex was born on June 10, 1994 in Rochester, to Tricia Noben. Alex graduated high school from Dodge Center, Minn. He enrolled at Minnesota State University in Mankato where he graduated with a manufacturing engineer degree. He previously worked on Rolls Royce components as an engineer. Currently he was working at River Valley Power and Sports in Red Wing.
    Alex loved playing his guitar. In high school he was in a band, From Within. His recent enjoyment was playing guitar at his sister Chloe’s wedding. Alex also had a love for dirt bikes, which was a big part of his family’s lives. He was a very proud “Big Brother” helping his little brother, Jason, at his Motocross races. His younger sisters, Danica, Layla and Chloe cherished him and he adored them. Devin, Alex’s big brother, had an inseparable bond with Alex from the start of their lives. Not only were they brothers, but best friends. His other best friends, also like brothers, BJ, Doug and Scott (Ally) have forever memories of adventure, mischief and have always been an extension of Alex’s family. Alex also had a love for snowboarding, camping, fishing and spending time with his special dog companion, Cleo.
    Alex is survived by his mother, Tricia Noben; father, Michael Berg; sisters, Chloe (Blake) Lerum, Layla and Danica; brothers, Jason and Devin; grandparents, Bill and Theresa Noben; great-grandmothers, Peggy Olson and Alice Olson; aunt, Brittney Noben (White); uncles, Chad (Osha) Noben and Eric (Heidi) Berg; great aunts, Jeannine (Dave) Flies, Kim (Preston) Mangan, Kevin (Leticia) Olson, Jim (Eleanor) Olson; and great uncles, Tim Noben and Jim (Arlinda) Noben. Alex was preceded in death by great-great-grandmother, Helen Walter; great-grandpa, Jerry Olson;  great-uncles, Justin, Steve and Kyle Johnson; and grandparents, Dave and Claudia Berg and William Sr. and Arlys Noben.
    A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Goodhue County 4-H Building in Zumbrota.  
    Visitation will be on Friday, Oct. 11, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City.
