Blanche Brown obituary

Blanche “Muggs” Irene Brown, died Thursday, March 9, 2023 at St. Elizabeths Health Care Center in Wabasha. She was born November 18, 1933 in Glenwood, Minn. to Harry and Velma (Schultz) Gilbert.
She grew up on the family farm in West Port, Minn. On March 3, 1956 she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Milo Brown, in Minneapolis. They made their home in Inver Grove Heights before moving to Lake City. She was a cook at the Pepin Inn and later owned her own restaurant in Wabasha, Minn. called The Café.
Blanche loved to sew and make clothes, as well as knit and crochet in her younger years. She enjoyed decorating cakes and collecting Beanie Babies. She adored daily competitive card games with her husband (with some light profanity included) and watching the Minnesota Twins. Each Sunday she would make cinnamon rolls for her family, which were enjoyed by all.
She is survived by sons, Robert (Corrine) and Mike (Lisa) Brown; daughter, Cindy (Matt) Brown; grandsons, Ryan Dwelle, Justin Brown, David Brown, John Brown, Joshua Brown; granddaughters, Lauren Brown and Jenna Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob in 2020; son, John Brown; brother, Harold Gilbert; and sister, Betty Hanson.
