Bruce Tiedeman obituary
Bruce William Tiedeman, 74, of Red Wing, Minnesota and formerly of Lake City, Minnesota passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at his home at Valentines Assisted Living in Red Wing. He was born in Lake City to Raleigh and Mary Ann (Funk) Tiedeman on December 21, 1950, and was the oldest child. Bruce grew up attending McCahill grade school and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1969. He went on to attend Faribault Vo Tech and graduated with a degree in carpentry.
Bruce worked many summers on the McCahill farm for Steve Osborne. He was also employed as a carpenter for LeRoy Sprick for several years. He worked at the UBC Lumber Company in Lake City and had a janitorial job at Lake City Hall. For over 25 years he worked at Proact in Red Wing where he formed many friendships with staff and employees who love “Big Bruce”.
Bruce was a faithful member of the Catholic Church, his greatest loves were “the farm”, and riding in the milk truck with his Dad or brothers. Sharing memories and stories, his knowledge of history, movies and TV shows – Gunsmoke and The Virginian. But everyone who knew him knew he really loved apple pie, cheese curds, milk, and the Dairy Queen.
Bruce lived at the Valentines Assisted Living since July 2016 and his family would like to thank the staff for their care and love given to Bruce over these past years, also thank you to St. Croix Hospice team for cares during this past year.
Bruce is survived by his immediate family, his mother, Mary Ann Tiedeman, siblings, Allan (Liz) Tiedeman, Cheryl (Gene) Moyer, and Greg Tiedeman all of Lake City, and his AFS brother, Surin (Poj.) Maisikrod of Thailand; his niece and nephews, Adrienne Gerst, Shawn Moyer, and Travis Tiedeman. He was preceded in death by his father, Raleigh and grandparents.
The Funeral Mass for Bruce will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 13, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Thé Hoang officiating. The burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Lake City. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
