Darlene Yotter obituary

    Darlene M. Yotter, age 91, of Lake City, passed away Saturday, May, 14, 2022  at Madonna Towers in Rochester. She was born July 3, 1930 in Red Wing to Alfred and Anna (Stemmann) Muhlman. She was confirmed in 1944 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Goodhue. Darlene graduated from Goodhue High School in 1948.
    On September 15, 1950 she married Delmar Brinkman. They farmed in the Belvidere area. Delmar passed away in September of 1968. On February 17, 1971 she married Donald Yotter at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Belvidere. They moved to Lake City in 1975. She enjoyed playing cards, giving rides to Rochester, Ladies Aid, Altar Guild, fishing. Shortly before Donald passed away, they relocated to The High Street House Assisted Living. Both enjoyed the time they shared there in her last six years. The residents there classified her as the social director and the go to person, bingo winner and gardener.
    Darlene is survived by her children, Alan (Clare) Brinkman of Goodhue, Barbara (Walt) Nigon of Eyota, David (Sharon) Brinkman of Rhinelander; step-children, Gary (Kathy) Yotter of Lake City, Minn., Myrna Gunderson of Florence, Ariz., Lyle (Margo) Yotter of Lake City; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; brother in-law Paul Meyer of Lake City. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Delmar Brinkman and Donald Yotter; grandson, Mathew Brinkman; step son-in-law, Tony Gunderson; sisters, Beverly Meyer and Betty Dicke.
    Darlene would like to thank Lois Brinkman for bringing her the church bulletin every Sunday when Darlene was no longer to attend in person.
     Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 at at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend Nathan Cordes officiating.  Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Belvidere Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at church. The service will be livestreamed on the Mahn Family Funeral Home Facebook page. Memorials are preferred to St. John’s video fund, Altar Guild, Ladies Aid and St. Peter’s Cemetery. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com. In lieu of Thank You Notes, the family will be giving a donation to the Altar Guild and St. Peter’s Cemetery Fund, on behalf of Darlene.
