Dorene Geisler obituary

Dorene Oris Geisler, 74, passed away on July 1, 2021 at her home of almost 13 years at the Mayo Clinic Lake City Care Center.
Dorene was born on May 13, 1947 to Odine and Deloris (Hildestadt) Ospahl. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Kenneth Ruzek in Austin, Minn. She attended school in Austin and eventually followed her mother to Lake City where she made her home. On Jan. 8, 1972 she married Roger Geisler and together they raised four boys. For a time, she worked at Heat-N-Glo and Knudsen’s Caramels. She and Roger were members of United Methodist Church, the VFW Post #8729 and the American Legion Post #110. She enjoyed camping and turtle fishing. In her later years she loved playing bingo and cards with her friends. Dorene was a very caring, loving wife, mother and grandmother who was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.
    Dorene is survived by her for sons, Kenneth Huffman of Ellsworth, Wisc., Bryan (Kathy) Huffman of Lake City, Kevin (Suzanne) Huffman of Red Wing and Jeff (Jolene) Huffman of Red Wing; nine grandchildren, Cassandra (Tanner) Knudsen, Bryan Jr. (Katie) Huffman, Bradley (Cassandra) Huffman, Michael Huffman, William (Sara) Huffman, Drew Huffman, Benjamin (Grace) Huffman, Kysa (Kyle) Nahorniak and Justin (Tara) Lee; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Debra Olson of Lake City and Suzanne Klein of Lake City; and her mother Deloris Ruzek of Lake City.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger in 2014; her brothers, Jim and Terry Ospahl; two grandchildren, twins, Kayla and Keisha; her father Odine and step-father Kenneth.
    A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Lake City with Reverend Phillip Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial at Lakewood Cemetery. Online condolences maybe left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
