Dorothy Anderson Obituary

Dorothy M. Anderson, 95, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Care Center.
    She was born on Oct. 20, 1922 to George and Mabel (Schumacher) Platte in Gillford Township, Oak Center. Dorothy grew up in the Lake City area.  She married Phillip DeGrey in 1950. Phillip passed away in 1955.  She married Luther Anderson on June 26, 1958 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City.  After they were married they lived in the Lake City area.  Dorothy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and also the Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Merry Mixers Card Club, Lake City Women’s Club and was a Tupperware dealer for many years. She loved to garden, dance and spending time with family and friends.
    Dorothy is survived by her children, Carla (Chuck) Anderson-Pelowski of Lake City, Mark (Tammy) Anderson of Lake City, Diane (David) Hardy of Goodhue; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Judy Platte of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Phillip DeGrey and Luther Anderson, a son, Morris Platte, and a sister, Luva Johnston.
    A funeral service will be Saturday, March 24, at 11  a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Nathan Cordes officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials to donor’s choice.
