Gary Adler obituary
Gary Norris Adler, 72, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday morning, May 14, 2024, at St. Crispin Living Community in Red Wing. He was born May 28, 1951, in Lake City to Norman and Lorraine (Prebe) Adler. He grew up in the West Albany area attending country school and Wabasha Public Schools and then graduating from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 1969. Gary served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era from February 4, 1971 to November 3, 1972.
Gary married Sharon McGuire in 1973. They had two daughters, Jodi, and Jamie. They were later divorced. On February 3, 2006, he married Michelle Willford in Red Wing.
Gary worked for many years at DiAcro and Federal Mogul in Lake City and at Riviera Cabinets in Red Wing. Most recently he worked for Greenview, a contractor for MN DNR. He retired in 2023 when his health started to fail.
Gary is survived by his wife, Michelle Willford-Adler of Lake City; two daughters, Jodi (Ben) Birr of Good Thunder, Minn., and Jamie Stans of Clitherall, Minn.; stepdaughter, Alex (Scott) Bertrand of Arlington, Minn.; two stepsons, Jovan (Michelle) Willford of Montclair, N.J., and Jerad Willford of St. Paul; 16 grandchildren; siblings, Charleen (Albert) Schaechterle of Lake City, Diannia (Steve) Briggs of Kellogg, Norma (Delbert) Goeman of Lake City, Norman (Linda) Adler of Ellsworth, Wis., Mick (Jane) Adler of Millville, and brother-in-law, Mark Leonard of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Geraldine Hoffman, and Joann Leonard.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel. Friends and family may visit from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
