Gary Hern Obituary

Gary Hern, 72, of Plainview, formerly of Lake City, passed away, Heaven went fishing and used just the right bait and got a great catch on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 at Green Prairie Rehab Center in Plainview.
    Gary was born Dec. 29, 1944 in Lake City to Jack and Harriet (Holst) Hern. Gary grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City. He married Sandra Quade in Red Wing. They lived in Lake City where they raised their two daughters. Gary worked at ABM Flour Mill in Red Wing. Gary and Sandra later divorced. Gary enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors.
    Gary is survived by two daughters, Melissa Hern of Rochester and Jennifer (Perry) Booker of Rochester; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Sherrin (Erland) Banks of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Simmone Bremer.
    A graveside service will be held at St. John’s Cemetery in Lake City, Thursday, Jan. 5, at 1 p.m.  Arrangements are with the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. Online condolences can be sent to www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
