Ione Breuer Obituary

Ione H. Breuer, 92, of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 surrounded by her family.  
    Ione was born Oct. 1, 1926 in Lake City, to John and Helen Busch. On Nov. 18, 1947, she married Gerold H. Breuer in Lake City.  The couple lived in Lake City until moving to Rochester in 1956.  After 30 years, they returned to Lake City to enjoy their retirement.  Ione raised her five children, participated in many of her children’s school activities, and was proud to be an election judge in both Rochester and Lake City.  She excelled in many hobbies including baking, knitting, bowling, playing cards, and gardening. She was an avid Vikings and Twins fan.
    Ione is survived by four children, Patricia (Curtis) Palmer of Flagstaff, Ariz., Debra (Jerry) Goretzki of Rochester, James Gerold Breuer of Camino, Calif., and Nancy (Richard) Joyce of Rochester; three grandsons, Mitchell Joyce, Clint Mauk and Chad Long; brother, Ron L. Busch of Sutter Creek, Calif.; sister-in-law, Faye Busch of Lake City; one niece; and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gerry; daughter, Mary K. Long; sister, Marvel Nelson; two brothers, Jackie Busch and Donny Busch; sister-in-law, Patti Busch; and parents, John and Helen Busch.
    A private family service will be held in Lake City.  Blessed be her memory.
