Irene Peper obituary

Irene Sophie Peper, 98, passed away on May 13, 2024 at the Elysian Assisted Living in Lake City, Minn.    
Irene was born on December 28, 1925 in Florence Township to William and Dorothea (Roper) Witt.
She married Elmer Peper on January 25, 1946 in Frontenac, Minn.
Irene was active with the VFW Auxiliary, 4-H Leader for 12-years, Rose Garden Club and the Goodhue County Extension Group, and was part of the Ladies Aid with West Florence Lutheran Church. She worked at many places over the years including Red Wing Shoe Company, Whistle Stop, Harbor House and the Lake City Nursing Home. She retired in 1990.
Irene is survived by her sons, Dwight (Shirley) Peper of Crowley, Texas, Robert (Julie) Peper of Lake City Minn.; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister-in-law Phylis Witt; three sisters, Janice (John) Witt Campe, Elaine Witt Kaehler, Shirley (Wally) Witt  Klovstad.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Suzanne Peper-Hinck; her three bothers, Donald Witt, LaVern Witt, Glen Witt; and sister Verona (Erwin) Witt  Bargsten.
Memorial Services will be held on June 21 , 2024 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Lake City, Minn. with Pastor Steve Frentz officiating. Burial will be at the West Florence Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
